There’s a plethora of reasons why Trump deserved to lose this election, not the least of which is described quite succinctly by John Oliver.

The absolutely idiotic proportions of the COVID-19 pandemic in the US (with far over 100K new infections per day) are effectively Trump’s doing for denying the seriousness of the illness when he knew better, for playing it down and sowing confusion, and for setting nothing but bad examples.

If our numbers were similar to that of the rest of the world, we should not have much more than 55,000 dead, but instead we have about 240,000 casualties, some 185,000 above the world average, 185,000 Americans who should still be alive! That’s not the way to run a country!
