The End of America?

The acceptance of QAnon conspiracy theories (ignore all reason and question everything, no matter how stupid or insane), not just among low brows but politicians as well, seems to be ushering in the ultimate demolition of America’s fundamental values, and the end of America itself, the great experiment in Democracy and respect for the law that was established by our forebears and enshrined into the Law of the Land, the Constitution of the United States of America.

Is this finally the end, are the plebes really tearing this nation apart, led by self-aggrandizing slimebags with no sense for what this country has stood for, what America has championed, and represented? Is this the last gasp of Democracy, the end of it all? Is America going to join the ranks of third world nations with unstable dictatorships, governments replaced yearly by populism rather than lawful elections, and the will of the people infested with distrust and even violence?

Is discourse going to be replaced by shouts?

Is civility going to be replaced by disrespect?

Is this the end of the United States of America?
